Empire Building – Extreme Rope Access & Multi-Level Pressure Washing Transformation in Houston, TX

KT Power Washing & Sealing was selected to perform a full exterior cleaning and façade restoration of the iconic Empire Building located in Houston’s Galleria area. This multi-level project required advanced access methods, coordinated equipment use, and detailed façade brightening to restore the building’s original architectural appeal.

Our team deployed a combination of rope access technicians, a 60-foot boom lift, and balcony-level detail cleaners, allowing us to safely reach every inch of the structure while maintaining uniform cleaning results across all surfaces.

Scope of Work

The project included a complete exterior wash of the brick façade and architectural details. Our rope access technician performed mid-rise cleaning using a certified bosun’s chair system, removing deep organic growth and atmospheric staining that had built up over years. Simultaneously, a second technician operated a 60-foot boom lift to clean higher exterior sections of the building, ensuring full coverage of surfaces that cannot be reached from ground level. A third crew member worked from the balconies to deep-clean the banisters, railings, and recessed architectural features.

Process & Equipment Used

Our process combined professional detergents, controlled dwell times, and manufacturer-safe cleaning methods designed specifically for luxury residential buildings. We used a low-pressure finishing rinse to protect the brick and mortar while still achieving a dramatic visual improvement. Vertical access was performed by certified rope access personnel following strict safety protocols.
